The tears flowed of course because the girls left on their European Vacation, while the tantrum would have been thrown by Pete if he couldn't get into the house to take photos today. The tiles are our tiles which have all been delivered. Yes, once again we had forgotten our colour choices, well I had, but Pete has this 'super computer of a brain' so he obviously hadn't! Anyway, we were really happy when we saw the floor, wall, alfresco and little mosaic ones (for the showers). I think the colour combinations we went for are pretty basic but once all put together should look pretty classy. I just am looking forward to seeing the dark grey carpet contrasting the light grey

of the tiles and walls.
I was pleasantly surprised to see our kitchen bench top had been delivered and cut to size to replace the cardboard stuff that was used as a template. I think the colour is a very close match to the bathroom and ensuite benchtops, so good choices there . ..pat on the back for us again!
Our mate the painter was there which was the reason we got in again today and avoided major tantrums by you know who. He was painting the front doors and the rear garage door and I'm guessing he would have done the bits above the windows and maybe the alfresco wood bits later on.

He needed a bit of advice so of course he turned to me and wanted my opinion on what colour should be used on the lintels above the garage and front bedroom windows and under the portico. Now, before I became quite knowledgeable in all things regarding building, I thought lintels were what those health food nuts had in their burgers instead of meat. Not anymore though, as I now know they hold up the bricks above windows and over garage doors and things like our portico so that as Pete goes to carry me over the threshold, a ton of bricks don't fall and add to the already hefty weight he is lifting!! I think we told him he could make the decision and we'd be happy with his choice..either black

or manor red..so mister smarty pants painter said he'd do it in green. I then advised him I would hunt him down so he said he'd choose between the two colours, which I think ended up being manor red so that it would blend in with the brickwork. If you notice, I said 'I think' because I forgot as soon as we were in the car..hopeless or what?!!
It looks like the sparkies (electricians) have been back this week as there are now holes in all the lovely paintwork where the power points and downlights are going to go. No holes for the heating/cooling yet but I think that will all be done this week...and maybe the tilers might even start...fingers crossed!!! And please Mr tiler..be there next Saturday so I dont have to deal with a super duper tantrum..even one from a Pom with a 'super computer brain'.
